Job Description
- The data operations lead will manage all the data operations functions --supporting sev1-3 issues that require data extraction, performing data reconciliation and investigation, evaluating data flows, testing of data automation across different data pipelines, and manually executing job runs should they fail
- Reviews each operational request that comes to DM and recommends improvements on the process, especially on how data is handled and processed, prior automation. The recommendations will increase efficiency, reduce risk and enhance controls, as well as consider sustainability and scalability
- Designs data operations solutions as well as have regular evaluation and assessment of those that have gone live
- Works closely with the Technology Service Delivery Teams especially in assessing the impact of new App releases to the back-end database and deployed solutions. In case there are data quality issues, the data operations manager will have to report them to both IT Service Delivery and Data Governance
- The data operations lead will have a technical and domain knowledge to assess complexity against business impact. By balancing the two, he/she will be able to prioritize tasks accordingly for the data operations unit
- Develops framework and processes for the maintenance of data operations and its documentation
- Works closely with data engineers, data scientists, and BI analysts in deploying models and visualization into production
- Develops a monitoring framework for data applications and models that have been deployed to production
- Accountable for the deliverables of the QA and data operations officers. He/she will see to it that all data operations functions are being performed accurately and timely
- Recommends the right mix of tools and software application for a project
Minimum Qualifications
- 7-10 years of experience in data operations, data engineering and data infrastructure, testing, data governance, and/or analytics
- MSc in Data Science, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering/Operations Research, Mathematics, Statistics, Informatics or any related field
- Expertise in Database management (SQL, Hadoop, Hive, Ab Initio, NoSQL) and ETL
- Experienced in documentation and data quality tools
- Experienced in Continuous Improvement and with Six Sigma background
- Knowledgeable of Data Science Tools and Concepts (Python, R)
- Experienced in Business Intelligence Tools (QlikSense, NPrinting)
- Stakeholder and project management
- Experience in being a people manager for at least 2 years
