Job Description

  • Strategising, reviewing, implementing, maintaining, analyzing and reporting for client’s projects using a number of Google properties including; AdWords, Analytics, Search Console, and Google Tag Manager.
  • Focuses on AdWords accounts, ensuring best performance, engagement and a positive ROI (return on investment) for each account managed.
  • The strategy for the AdWords account is typically established by a client’s objectives, followed by a review of the client’s digital properties, in particular, the clients existing AdWords, Analytics and Search Console if applicable. Investigating what is achieving the desired outcomes and what is not will have an impact on the direction of the strategy. The clients Project Manager and AdWords specialist will work together to implement, manage and complete account reviews, setting up continued management going forward.
  • The Project Manager and client confirms and conveys the AdWords strategy to all parties. The strategy promises to incorporate the client’s objectives with industry best practices to optimise the client’s accounts, enhancing their brand and Return on Investment.
  • A plan of action is put together after the confirmation of the strategy. The AdWords specialist uses this to implement the management of the account. This may include the creation of the account, creation of campaigns using one or more networks (Google’s Search, Display, Shopping and/or YouTube’s TrueView), Optimising, maintaining and creating additional campaigns and ad groups.
  • Maintenance of an AdWords account is pivotal to ROI for the client. This is to ensure all campaigns are achieving potential. The management of an account often includes investigation into search terms to optimise keywords, geographic and device analysis, and additions / exclusions, as well as revision of ads or targeting options.
  • The management of the account delves into the depths of Analytics to investigate performance and achieve a more concise understanding of AdWords visitors against other channels.
  • The AdWords specialist understands that the client’s Google properties are interlinked and affected by one another.
  • The AdWords specialist abides by the same internal systems, procedures and policies as all operations department staff members. They are accountable to the operations manager.
  • Will be managing budgets, preparing strategy, implementing and optimising campaigns across AdWords.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Working in a dynamic agency that is passionate about digital, the applicant needs to be an enthusiastic and creative Google AdWords Specialist with excellent data analysis skills (Google Analytics). The ideal candidate should be dynamic, organized and take the time to understand what drives a client's business.
  • 2+ years of experience in a Paid Search/Display campaign/AdWords management focused role, and have very strong AdWords, and Google Analytics abilities and knowledge. Ideally, you will also have experience in Paid Media channels such as Display and Remarketing campaigns, Facebook ads and YouTube (Added bonus)
  • 2 to 3 years’ experience managing AdWords campaigns, with a solid base of SEM that is applied to different and varied organisations.
  • Solid understanding of performance marketing, conversions, and online customer acquisition. Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in all AdWords campaigns and campaign management.
  • Responding to project work to do’s, and ensuring campaign delivery: tracking changes to accounts, ongoing optimisation, budget alignment, contribution to organisational insights and making recommendations in post-campaign performance reviews.
  • Excellent attention to detail, the ability to follow instructions and formulate a plan from information.
  • Must be able to work across both Google Analytics and AdWords platforms. Must be able to utilize data and information captured in Analytics, and or Google Search Console and apply it to individual AdWords campaigns.
  • Must be able to gather historical account information to gain clear insight and understanding of the client and their account.
  • Must understand budget allocation and the why and the way it has been allocated.
  • Must be creative and critical in managing a client’s portfolio, campaigns and ads.
  • Knowledgeable of how to manipulate and extract information from the client’s ads keeping in mind the client’s budgets and needs, and report this information to the appropriate staff.
  • Must have a strong process orientation, updating work-related notes in the system of changes and communicating to appropriate staff.
  • Strong knowledge of current trends and/or researching strategies in regards to target locations, industry, habits and history
  • • Ability to own the role and showcase their expertise
  • • Google AdWords certification, Google Analytics certification, Google Search Console, Facebook Ads experience, Google Tag Manager experience, and/or web development experience is all a plus.

Must have 2 to 3 years additional experience in:

  • SEO - Google Analytics/Google Tag Manager/Google Search Console
  • Facebook advertising
  • Mail Chimp
  • Strong attention to detail essential
  • Demonstrates honesty and integrity and leads by example.
  • Competent in using cloud-based software, as well as Google Drive tools (used primarily for client delivery).
  • Excellent communication skills
