Job Description
We are looking for a Corporate Legal Counsel to handle company legal matters and projects. Reporting to the Head of Legal (Chief Counsel) you will ensure the legality of business transactions and advise our company on legal rights and duties.
- Consult and handle all corporate legal processes (e.g. intellectual property, structure changes, financial/product offerings, compliance issues, deals, agreements, lawsuits, patents)
- Research, recommend, develop, and implement scalable policies and procedures to ensure the company’s compliance with applicable laws
- Research, anticipate and guard company against legal risks
- Guide managers and ensure compliance with rules and regulations
- Structure, draft and review a wide variety of legal documents, reports and other agreements including master service agreements, data processing addendums (DPAs), NDAs, and partnership agreements and develop company templates for these
- Assist specific departments with particular focus on legal needs, including but not limited to
- Marketing and Business Development: research, training and policies and procedures for advertising law, partnership structures, intellectual property, etc
- HR: labor and employment laws
- Operations: fraud legalities, partner integrations
- Compliance: impact of non compliance
- Product: structures and deals / commercial transactions
- Represent the company in all legal invitations and proceedings (administrative boards, court trials etc.)
Minimum Qualifications
- Proven comparable legal counsel experience; ideally gained from law firms
- Proven background on corporate law (contract law, tax law, accounting, securities law, bankruptcy, intellectual property rights, licensing, employment laws)
- Excellent negotiation and communications skills
- Administrative and managerial skills
- Analytical ability and strong attention to detail
