Hi! We are Coins.ph - an Asia fintech company. Our main product is a mobile wallet that helps people in Asia pay and transfer money without doubts.

We built one of the largest cash distribution networks in the Philippines, operating through over 33,000 partner locations domestically and over 500,000 locations worldwide.

Currently, we are working on 6 projects from scratch such as e-wallet, crypto transactions, integrations with our partners and internal anti-fraud system.

Our Engineering team mostly works remotely, but our HQ is located in Manila, Philippines. We have a geo-dispersed team of engineers who work in Russia, CIS, Europe and Asia with flexible working schedule.

You will do well on this position if you pay attention to details and are interested in:

• Clear, idiomatic code;
• Reasoning about service boundaries, SLAs;
• Designing and building resilient systems (chaos engineering);
• Databases and distributed systems;
• Load testing (we use Yandex.Tank).

Technologies We Use

• Python (mostly Django, you may rarely encounter Tornado, aiohttp, and Flask);
• Go (domain-driven design based on Go-Kit);
• Terraform to manage AWS and treat Infrastructure as Code;
• Helm as Package Manager for Kubernetes allows us to have a decent contract between Product Engineering and Site Reliability Engineer team;
• Kubernetes with enhanced monitoring (Prometheus), vertical and horizontal pod auto-scaler, and network security policies;
• Postgres, Kafka, Redis;
• Jaeger, Prometheus, VictoriaMetrics, Grafana.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of Python and/or Go, Django, noSQL and relational databases;
• Commercial experience in designing, developing, testing, deploying and maintaining large scale applications in any language or stack (at least 2 years experience for Middle Engineers and 5 years experience for Senior Engineers);
• Familiarity with helm, terraform, Kubernetes;
• Readiness to communicate independently with various stakeholders;
• Fluent English.

Good to Have

• Experience as a team lead or project manager is a plus;
• Experience working remotely;
• Well-maintained GitHub profile with samples of your prior work, relevant open-source commits or other public work vetted by developers online is a big plus.
