Job Description
The primary objective of the role is to support the CFO to ensure financial integrity of the general ledger and to maintain a sound financial reporting and financial control environment for the company to mitigate risk. This includes the development of internal control policies and procedures, managing statutory audit processes and tax reporting. Responsibilities include:
- Managing the financial integrity of the general ledger including oversight of supporting processes and systems.
- Control activities such as taxation, cash flow, costing and expense control, administration of contracts and insurance arrangements.
- Responsible for the preparation of financial regulatory reporting.
- Key contact for and managing the statutory audits.
- Advise on capital requirements and capital management and work with Treasury to ensure capital management is aligned with Board and approved Capital Management Plans.
- Comply with tax requirements and optimize tax planning for the business.
- Develop accounting policies and procedures including researching technical accounting issues for compliance.
- Manage all accounting operations including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, the GL, capitalization of software development and intra group transactions.
- Participating in and advise the business on financial considerations of new product and process initiatives.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Managing external suppliers where required.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience in a Finance Controller role in the banking industry
- Solid reporting and budgeting experience, preferably in a global, financial services organization
- Strong attention to detail, analytical capability and the ability to generate business critical insights
- Strong commercial acumen, with proven track record of driving for business outcomes
- Advanced communication, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
- A passion for the customer experience and an understanding of customer behavior
- Experience in distributing and servicing products through independent channels
- Ability to thrive in a changing environment and to lead collaboratively through change
- Strong people leadership capability, with the ability to inspire and motivate people
