About the Opportunity

The DevOps engineer combines both software and systems engineering and takes charge of automation, performance, stability, reliability and scalability of IT infrastructure and services for critical investment banking applications. The mission is to Keep The Lights On. The DevOps engineer should have a strong desire to improve systems that are used at a largescale.

Responsibilities

• Design and build infrastructure that will support an ever-growing set of records to be used by financial institutions worldwide.
• Design and deploy systems to streamline deployment of new software, and ease burden of supporting said new software.
• Automate server provisioning processes to reduce human intervention.
• Maintain system up-time and availability.
• Maintain production systems by measuring and monitoring availability, latency and overall system health.
• Requisitioning new infrastructure to anticipate and address growing volumes.
• Test the resiliency of IT operations.
• Communicate with third party vendors to handle infrastructure enquiries, issues or requests.
• Problem and incident management and root-causes analysis on high severity outages.
• Deploy changes and upgrades to the platform on weekends for major releases.

Qualifications (Must-haves):

• BS degree in Computer Science or related technical field involving coding, or equivalent practical experience.
• Very strong administration skills (particularly Linux) with deep understanding of OS Concepts, Networking and Web Servers.
• Strong system/infrastructure architecture and design knowledge and experience.
• Experience in cloud services particularly in AWS infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)
• Security minded with a high-level understanding of cryptographic algorithms, secure communication protocols, and secrets management systems.
• Familiar with various CI/CD and defining build/test/deploy pipelines in code.
• Capable of learning our coding languages and interpreting the business logic of our production codebase.
• Strong working knowledge of networking.
• Candidate must bring their own skills and expertise to sometimes create unusual solutions.
• Banking/financial industry experience desired but not required.
• Availability for on-call support to address production issues or incidents.

Advantages (Nice-to-haves, Not Mandatory):

• Experience in at least one or more of the following: Python, Ruby, Java, Pearl, Go Lang, NodeJS, C++, C#, PHP, etc.
• AWS Certifications.
• Working knowledge on MongoDB, and configuration management.
• Banking/financial industry experience desired but not required.
