Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a dynamic, entrepreneurial and adaptable Controller to provide planning, control and oversight on the Finance and Accounting operations of all three (3) companies: Generationhope, Inc., Friends of Hope, Inc. and HOPEx Environment Group, Inc. In this role, your responsibilities will include:

1. Management
   • Provide strategic leadership for all aspects of finance & controlling operations, including setting long term direction.
   • Maximize return on financial assets by establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems.
   • Assess current accounting operations, and make recommendations to achieve greater efficiencies and accuracy in the level and timeliness of reporting.
2. Transactions
   • Oversee month end closing process and ensure timely delivery of accurate results.
   • Lead finance transactions, which include Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost and Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition
   • Maintain the chart of accounts
   • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
3. Reporting
   • Prepare timely financial and operating results with breakdown on a per product, or customer basis.
   • Establish financial and operating benchmarks, budgets, program monitoring, and reporting standards
   • Lead the financial forecasting and budgeting activities of the organization
   • Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
   • Provide for a system of management cost reports
   • Provide financial analyses, for cashflow capital investments, pricing decisions, working capital, product costing, variance analyses, and other reports as needed
4. Compliance
   • Ensures effective & efficient formulation and implementation of accounting policies, procedures and internal controls that conforms with GAAP
   • Coordinates the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit
   • Comply with government reporting requirements and tax filings

Skills and qualifications:

• Candidates must have completed a bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Must be a CPA
• Must have at least 5 years of solid experience in Finance and Accounting in a Senior Management role, preferably from the FMCG industry
• Excellent financial analysis and reporting skills
• Team leader with people management experience
• Great communicator, can express himself or herself well
• Must have high attention to detail
• Highly entrepreneurial
