Creative Director, Design  

Hashtag Interactive is sounding a casting call for a Creative Director, Design to join our team. We’re looking for someone to drive creative output across a range of innovative products and who has a strong pedigree in visual design and demonstrated expertise in digital experiences.

We need a person who can fill many roles:
Influencer for design culture and innovation within the organisation
Leader, to inspire a team of designers to do their best work on various projects across a wide range of accounts — from consumer brands to government campaigns, both local and regional
A strategist who can steer our creative output to match client goals while still driving innovation
Mentor to a bunch of young, talented designers to help them with their work, be a sounding board for the important things they want to talk about, and challenge them to do their best work
Design guru for clients who may need help with creative input and direction.

What we would like to see:

• A robust background with extensive experience in a creative leadership role in a digital agency environment
• Recognised expertise in digital & interactive design and visual identity
• Strong ability to provide clear creative direction, career path guidance, and timely and helpful feedback to improve creative processes to keep work on schedule and budget
• Proven leadership skills. We need people who are confident with everything from team building to mentoring to guiding creative talent
• Excellent presentation skills and communication abilities at all levels, both internal and external, local and regional
• Client facing exposure and excellent presentation skills a plus
• Animation, video, and or motion graphics experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Providing editorial insight for all of Hashtag Interactive’s design teams
• Work with the Accounts teams to ensure that our design output complies with client guidelines while also representing Hashtag Interactive’s design perspective
• Maintain a high level of knowledge on design trends, tools, and resources and evaluates new technologies and approaches for use in client projects
• Help guide and mentor designers in the team to help them reach their full potential

Experience

• College graduate, preferably with a degree related to Graphic Design or Marketing
• At least 10 years of design experience
• At least 5 years of agency experience
• At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role

Skills

• Strong interpersonal skills
• Adept at leading design software packages
• Good knowledge of multimedia design, web design, animation, and motion graphics
• Project management skills
