Job Description
The business analyst's primary objective is helping Group Management and its member companies implement technology solutions in a cost-effective way by determining the requirements of a project or program and communicating them clearly to stakeholders, facilitators, and partners.
Primary Responsibilities
- Determines operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats.
- Recommends new software, programs, and systems by analyzing requirements; constructing workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing specifications.
- Improves systems by studying current practices; designing modifications.
- Recommends and maintains controls by identifying problems; writing improved procedures.
- Defines project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases, and elements; forming a project team; establishing a project budget.
- Monitors project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; recommending actions.
- Provides references for users by writing and maintaining user documentation; providing help desk support; training users.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 3 - 4 years related work experience in a similar position
- College degree, preferably IT or any related course
- Microsoft Access and/or SQL experience strongly preferred
- Ability to impact operations and effect change without being confrontational
- Detail oriented, analytical and inquisitive
- Experience with agile project methodology preferred
- Business Knowledge, Business Principles & Practices, Industry Knowledge, Organizational Knowledge, & Solution Knowledge
