Manager, Development Engineering  

In this position, the individual will assume leadership in all process and device-related FA activities of BE DOE Engineering. He/She will help to harmonize strategy and execution to improve process efficiency. The individual will be the driving force to develop and manage methods to analyze device performance degradation vs. baseline using historical test, process and physical geometry data to identify trends, areas for investigation and identify process improvements to drive efficiency and compliance.

The individual will also be expected to have an exceptional interpersonal skill including the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization across sites. He/She is expected to drive change and respond to shifting priorities and craft improvement in processes and systems to run this function more effectively.

Job Description:

• Responsible for reviewing the coherence of evaluation objectives, test plan, BE process requirements and its translation to execution instructions.
• Develop and manage methods to analyze device performance degradation vs. baseline using historical test, process and physical geometry data to identify trends, areas for investigation and escalation to wafer design and characterization teams
• Develop, establish, prepare and distribute dashboards and reports to assure device/process performance issues are processed in a timely manner
• Develop Predictive analysis/or system to identify potential process risk and recommend a necessary adjustment to minimize, if not totally avoid misprocessing prior to the start of evaluation input to the production line.
• Ensure internal partners are fully aware of the thoroughness of an FA and the expected Turn Around Time (TAT)
• Participate and collaborate with team members to identify process improvements to drive efficiency and compliance.
• Craft and improve processes and systems to run this function more effectively.

Qualifications:

• B.S. Degree in Engineering (ECE, EE or ChE) or related field.
• Must have proven to have an in-depth knowledge of magnetic recording principles, slider fabrication, physical characterization, and testing methodology.
• People management skills and experience in cross-functional collaboration is preferred.
• Self-motivated and self-directed, however, must have demonstrated ability to work well with people especially in a manufacturing industry.
