Job Description
- Performing technical evaluations, analysis, and troubleshooting for all DB servers and ensure all DB’s perform at optimum levels.
- Evaluating and improving a transaction processing model, maintenance fixes and vendor-supplied patches.
- Assesses database performance by developing a protocol for measurement of results and identification of problem areas.
- Implements DB upgrades, perform regular maintenance functions following established processes such as backups and patching, daily system monitoring, reviewing logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs
- Secures database by preparing access and control policies and procedures; implementing disaster recovery procedures.
- Supports database performance by monitoring database performance; evaluating and resolving processing and programming problems; designing database management tools; answering user questions.
- Minimizes activities with a negative impact on operation; maintenance windows are always discussed with the affected departments.
- Reports any deviation/problem/outage to superior and other units, provides regular reporting.
- Create, maintain, and implement detailed documentation, system inventories, operation documentation of architecture and settings.
- Ensures the compliance with license and other agreements, defines local standards, ensures the global standards are met.
- Follow IT Service Management best practices for all service functions focusing on incident management and change management
Minimum Qualifications
- Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of individuals: developers and highly technical staff, outside vendors, managers and end users.
- Experience using of relational database principles, writing application interface with SQL or T-SQL queries
- Understanding of and adherence to Oracle’s Best-Practices for database administration, security and the Oracle Maximum Availability Architecture including installing, configuring, tuning, backups, patching, maintenance, and implementation.
- High level of presentation, calculation, data manipulation, troubleshooting, and maintain security documentation and compliance.
- Reliable and independent person.
- Having an Oracle Certification is a great advantage
- Expert in English communication is a must
