Job Description

  • Ensure that network assets are properly configured, documented, monitored and properly supported / maintained.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, resolve and/or escalate reported incidents of service disruptions caused by network defects.
  • Proactively monitor for instances of connectivity issues covering head office and remote / branch sites.
  • Ensure that all network assets are within useful lifecycle and are supported by applicable service agreements from accredited service providers.
  • Ensure that all network assets are properly logged / recorded in the configuration management database (CMDB).
  • Coordinate with service providers for activities covering connectivity and structured cabling in support of business operations.
  • Provide onsite support for PABX and telephony, and coordinate with service providers for its proper upkeep.
  • Review and facilitate requests for firewall configurations in support for deployment of applications and services.
  • Ensures that all compliance matters are identified and openly and honestly reported to the Line Manager and/or Compliance Officer in accordance with the reporting requirements operated within the work unit and the Company.
  • Perform other functions as may be assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

Education/Professional Qualification

  • Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent
  • With working experience on Telephony and Network Management
  • Knowledge (Technical, Product, Industry, etc.)
  • Cisco router and switch configuration
  • Network monitoring tools via Solarwinds
  • Proxy management and administration
  • Bluecoat Administration
  • Avaya IVRS System Administration
  • Knowledgeable on IOS devices

Years of Relevant Experience (Please state if management experience is required)

  • 1 to 2 years working experience as Network Specialist

PRIMARY TECHNICAL ABILITIES:

1. Minimum CCNA qualified

2. Administration and troubleshooting of LAN/WAN/WLAN networks Routing protocols configuration and troubleshooting (BGP, RIP, OSPF, EIGRP …) LAN technologies administration and troubleshooting (VRRP, VSS, STP …) QoS mechanisms Wifi controllers and access points administration Load Balancer (NetScaler)

3. Security Administration with Palo Alto and Fortinet Firewalls, Pulse remote access, Reverse

Proxy SECONDARY TECHNICAL ABILITIES:

1. Knowledge on Infrastructure Solutions (Servers, Storage …)

2. Knowledge in ITIL framework

3. WAN Compression and Optimization appliances Riverbed

4. Telephony & Voice infrastructure administration (mainly Cisco)

BEHAVIOR ABILITIES:

  1. Strong Knowledge of Cisco network products, Palo Alto, Riverbed
  2. Self motivated, eager to learn in the IT profession
  3. Team player must be able to work with people within and outside of the IT department.
  4. Customer service oriented
  5. Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  6. English speaking mandatory (French reading would be appreciated)
  7. Ability to analyze and synthesize situations and understand the business constraints
  8. Willing to do some traveling Technical Environment:

● Cisco products and technologies

● Cisco telephony

● Citrix netscaler NLB and ReverseProxy

● PaloAlto (and Panorama central mgmt) and Fortinet Firewalling

● Infoblox DNS

● Riverbed WAN optimization and Netflow Riverbed Cascade

● Monitoring Solarwinds

● Ticketing CMDB CA Service Desk Manager
