Wireless Network Engineer | Enterprise  

Job Description - Overview:
The Wireless Network Engineer Architect is responsible to optimize the performance of the network and address any network problems or faults and partner with network engineers to enhance the network. The engineer will also plan, deploy, and improve wireless networks from the design to implementation by collaborating with vendors, managers, and network engineers.

Key Job Functions and Duties:
➢ Understand client requirements to be able to cater to their appropriate needs.
➢ Handhold other in-house engineers to train them on wireless technologies and provide guidance to non-technical staff.
➢ Use tools to evaluate, test and tweak wireless products, such as routers, switches, hubs, bridges, virtual private networks (VPNs), and network amplifiers, among others.
➢ Design and validate the performance, quality, and reliability of the RF link.
➢ Design and implement WLANs and other wireless networks.
➢ Write manuals and document current network procedures.
➢ Make use of enterprise monitoring tools (PRTG and WLC).
➢ Ensure that all network and communications systems are adequately documented.
➢ Develop mutually effective relationships with external 3rd parties such as network vendors and equipment suppliers
➢ Develop and implement policies and classify and oversee access to protect network systems.
➢ Make sure that all wireless equipment, including access points and controllers, are well-connected.
➢ Support radio frequencies (RF) link performance, reliability, and quality.
➢ Enable data and system protection by developing and maintaining mechanisms for backing up and retrieval.
➢ Work with the security team to evaluate threats, troubleshoot issues, and comply with appropriate security configuration standards of their organizations.

Desired Experience & Qualities:
➢ Broad technical background with at least three year’s work experience in a similar role
➢ Network architecture, infrastructure, and cloud deployment knowledge
➢ Engineering and network architecture implementation experience
➢ Experience with testing and diagnostic tools to assess and modify equipment.
Qualifications and Accreditations:
➢ Leading Network equipment providers certification highly desirable
➢ Axelos ITIL
➢ The Open Group TOGAF 9 Certification
➢ AWS Certification
