Job Description
- As the lead devops engineer you will create the tools, processes and tool chains that Essilor DITAC uses to build, deploy, monitor, and maintain software.
- We seek an experienced hands-on engineer with strong technical acumen to own CI/CD and define our level 2 support strategy.
- The ideal candidate has strong communication, leadership and interpersonal skills and a true passion for engineering.
- Qualified candidates have created CI/CD pipelines to deploy containerized services and PaaS configuration to the cloud (AWS, Google, and/or Kubernetes environments).
- In addition to the primary responsibility of CI/CD, the lead devops engineer will perform traditional operations activities such as environment monitoring, troubleshooting, and provisioning.
- Finally, while DITAC currently uses Jenkins for CI/CD, we will look to the lead devops engineer to define our go forward strategy and help us embrace emerging technology.
Minimum Qualifications
- 5 years of combined software development, cloud operations, and/or cloud
- operational support experience.
- 2 years in a hands on role creating deployment scripts for cloud and software
- deployments.
- 2 years of operational and/or development experience in the AWS cloud (PaaS and
- SaaS).
- 2 years of experience creating CI/CD pipelines in Jenkins, Azure Devops, Travis CI,
- etc.
- 1 year of experience scripting, deploying to, and maintaining an AWS or Google
- cloud environment.
- 1 year of Linux operational experience (creating Bash scripts, applying patches).
- Solid grasp of Docker containers and Docker fundamentals.
- Experience with Kubernetes or a willingness to learn.
- Experience with Jenkins or willingness to learn.
- Strong curiosity about emerging devops technologies and platforms.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to delegate and collaborate closely with others.
- Ability to document and explain technical details clearly and concisely.
