Job Description
The Transport Planning Engineer is responsible for the system selection and functional designs in the Transport Network domain covering:
- Mobile access transmission network – Microwave Transmission
- Fixed access and backhaul (e.g. FTTx, CPE, IP Router, etc);
- Core transmission network (e.g. Fiber, DWDM, Satellite Technologies, et);
The Transport Planning Engineer will close the gap between the strategic and conceptual network decisions of the Network Architecture and the “ready to deploy” requirements of the Transport Design and Transmission HLD. Support the teams in various studies;
- Perform in depth analysis of/calculate Transport Network/Fixed Access scenarios (in support of strategic decisions);
- Produce a Transport Network/Fixed Access Master Plan (AOP) fulfilling the Commercial and Wholesale/Business requirements;
- Transport Network/Fixed Access detailed design, based on standardized solutions;
- Consider the actual Performance Monitoring and Traffic Profile while prepare the Bill of Quantiry (BoQ)
- Based on the detailed design, create ready to implement data builds (i. planned configuration);
- Provide configuration plans for the Transport Network infrastructure on the HUB/Backbone locations;
- Technical approval of the to be implemented designs (TSSRs, etc.);
- Pre-sales support/prospect process for the business sales department (incl. business cases for specific transport solutions).
The Transport Network Planning Engineer will work closely with his OG Transport Network counterparts, ensuring that the local requirements of Indosat are taken into account and the right solutions are supported for local use.
The Transport Network Planning Engineer will strive for standardization, simplification. He will challenge and refine the given requirements in order to ensure that quality and cost efficiency/reduction lie at the heart of all defined solutions.
He will maintain and keep up to date design guidelines and relevant department documentation, in line with the reality to enable information sharing within the team and with other departments
Minimum Qualifications
Qualifications:
- M.Sc (IT/Telecoms/EE) or as a minimum B.Sc (IT/Telecoms/EE) working level;
- Fluency in English is required;
- A team player that has the capability and eagerness to quickly pick up new knowledge in a fast pace, rapidly changing environment;
- Enthusiastic and positive.
Experience/expertise:
- Minimal 3 years work experience in relevant network design and planning areas;
- Good knowledge of MW transmission solution, topologies and network architectures
- Deep knowledge of capacity dimensioning, translating the requirement from RAN become MW capacity requirement
- Having deep knowledge of processes and tooling involved in the MW planning and BoQ development
- Good knowledge of SDH, ATM, xWDM, (Carrier) Ethernet, PW, MPLS(-VPN), TCP/IP, routing protocols (e.g. BGP, ISIS, OSPF, etc…), IDS/IPS, Firewalls and security concepts;
- Good experience with IP networking, in particular the Cisco, Juniper and Huawei range of equipment;
- Good knowledge of / experience with fixed platforms (e.g. VoIP, DSLAM, IPTV, multicasting, DLM, Bonding, FTTx, Profiling, DHCP, PPPoE, CPE, Wifi, encoding, DRM, etc…);
