Job Description
As a Media Assets Librarian, your primary role is to oversee and maintain multiple tape and hard drive vaults containing thousands of invaluable video and audio elements, both on-site and off-site.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Digital File Management – Coordinates downloads and uploads of assets via various transfer methods. Verify files by running checksums. Communicate and alert appropriate staff/client about any discrepancies or issues with assets.
- Physical Asset Management - Ingest and sort assets as received from the client. Track physical assets throughout production. Communicate and alert appropriate staff/client about any discrepancies or issues with assets.
- Responsible for organization, accessibility, and preservation of all media assets
- Receive media assets from suppliers and manage those assets by adhering to and maintaining digital naming conventions, file management, metadata, and quality control.
- Quality checks any incoming and outgoing media assets, both physical and digital.
- Assists the Production Department in digitizing video footage from an extensive tape library and put it on a server to be copied and added to new archive system
- Provides material inventory reports as needed
Minimum Qualifications
- Functional understanding of media in relation to various production workflows
- Highly organized, analytical in thinking, and meticulous in maintaining information using detailed record-keeping systems
- Skills in database creation and management, and data storage methods
- Basic video editing skills (e.g. Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Avid Media Composer, etc.)
- Excellent analytical, communication (verbal and written), and interpersonal skills, including the commitment to working effectively within a diverse staff population
- Ability to manage projects and competing priorities with demonstrated ability to be flexible, to adapt to change, and to work successfully in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Experience and technical proficiency on both PC and Mac computer platforms
- Keen eye for details
Other Requirements:
- Knowledge of post-production, digital distribution, and subtitling production workflows is a plus
- Experience with the preservation and recording of physical assets for digital record keeping, disaster recovery, and public usage is preferred
- PC and Windows troubleshooting skills
- Great attitude and willingness to support a team
- Able to work in-house at our office in Greenhills, San Juan City
