Job Description

The Data Analyst is responsible for initiating and distributing regularly scheduled dashboards and reports, as well as ad hoc reports and analysis that inform cross-functional partners and provide insights to operating efficiencies. Specifically, the analyst will be retrieving, analyzing, creating reports, implementing dashboard, and delivering insights to achieve goals in cost reduction, efficient execution of services and process improvement.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Provide general reporting support to HR Operations through preparation and delivery of systematic and Generated Data.
  • Responsible for development and design enhancements to various management level dashboards and reports.
  • Ability to go beyond reporting of metrics and allow for analysis and interpretation to provide guidance to management on next steps or potential action items.
  • Determine what metrics to be used, what metrics to track, how they are measured an in what way to collect the data.
  • Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques and provide on-going reports.
  • Develop and implement data collection system and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and data quality.
  • Identify and analyze trends or patterns in complex data sets.
  • Responsible for tracking department costs and reporting on them as needed.
  • Develops budgets, forecasts, perform gap analyses and other departmental functions related to costs as required.
  • Deliver key insights to stakeholders through the delivery of metrics that provide specific actionable recommendations (prescriptive) to drive enterprise initiatives.
  • Utilizes internal and external data sources and through integration, novel data mining exploration, and troubleshooting of data anomalies provides consistent value-added metrics to help drive strategic insights.
  • Improve data collection, distribution and visualization processes in order to improve quality of reporting capabilities and enhances the user experience.
  • Retrieves and analyzes data using basic statistical quality control techniques. Issues recommendation based on facts arrived at during gap analyses. Prepares and summarizes data and presents to senior management.
  • Develops recommendations on proposed solutions for review with key management members.
  • Gathers data to use in developing the departmental Management By Objectives (MBO)/business Plans and other key metrics to ensure success is achieved.
  • Responsible for on-going review and analyses of key performance indicators.
  • Ensures data integrity of the HRIS database and other HR systems and provides timely, accurate support to HR and other clients.
  • Collaborates with HR business partners to guide and consults around the insights of HR analytics, score cards, and dashboards.

Financial Responsibilities

Responsible for tracking department costs and reporting on them as needed. In addition, will track travel related costs for inter-departmental needs when appropriate. Will develop budgets, forecasts, perform gap analyses and other departmental functions related to costs as required.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in analytical or business discipline (BS Math, Industrial Engineering Major in Operations Research, Economics, Information Systems or Information Management). MBA preferred.
  • Self-starter who needs little to no supervision.
  • Willing to work in shifting hours (AM shift and Mid Shift).
  • Position may require 10% travel to visit fleet as business needs require.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong knowledge in Excel, R, Python, Power BI and Tableau.
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design and development, data mining and segmentation techniques.
  • Ability to work, interact and communicate with both internal and external customers at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from senior management.
  • Strong Analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Adept at queries, report writing, and presenting findings.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy of reported information. Ability to quickly merge and summarize data/information from multiple sources, including experience in data management, cleaning, data analysis and report writing.
