Senior PHP Developer  

RESPONSIBILITIES

The role involves maintaining and improving the companies website, document new features, write unit tests and document code, refactor existing code and otherwise work to reduce technical debt.

We are looking for an independent thinking programmer who does not just want to do stuff, We are looking for someone who will find a better way to get the desired result. Not a coding robot, thinks and understands logic and code dependencies.

We want someone who understands the system.

• Back-end and front-end maintenance, support, enhancement, development and mobile-friendly coding
• Methodical debugging and fixing issues on existing website
• Ability to build and maintain fully functional web applications from scratch
• Designing database schema, and optimizing SQL queries and site architecture to improve performance
• Make adjustments to UX/UI with special attention to maintaining a high quality responsive mobile-first UI
• Spotting security weaknesses in code
• Comfortable writing unit tests
• For full-stack work, standards for HTML/CSS, JS/jQuery and Bootstrap must be adhered to and outputs must match the specifications accurately such as PSDs, wireframes and functional requirements.
• For back-end work, quality coding standards must be adhered to for each specific system, language (e.g. PHP and database SQL) or framework according to best practice and/or the relevant documentation to ensure ease of maintenance and future upgradeability.
• Review teammates code, work with department head, project manager, and senior management to keep projects on track. Support marketing, CRO, and design teams where necessary to implement campaigns.

KEY SKILLS & SELECTION CRITERIA

• Minimum of 7 years of professional web development experience primarily focused around user facing php based web applications in a production environment
• Good communication skills – both written and spoken English. Friendly and professional interaction with clients, third parties and the internal team is required.
• Must be able to easily read understand technical specifications and accurately follow directions and procedures.
• 7 years + PHP / laravel and PHP framework experience (required).
• WordPress experience for maintenance of blog
• Responsive HTML/CSS and Bootstrap experience (highly desirable)
• Strong educational background, preferably a degree in Software/Computer Engineering/Science or related discipline, with an open mind and the ability to learn quickly.
• Direct experience with the following technologies, languages, tools and systems preferred:
• PHP (Vanilla, Laravel)
• PHP Composer
• Javascript (ES6, jQuery, Vue.js, Node.js, React / Redux)
• Writing unit tests in java
• Webpack Module Bundler for Java
• HTML (Bootstrap, CSS - CSS preprocessor, SASS or LESS)
• MySQL / Mariadb/ PostgreSQL
• Linux (CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu, Arch)
• Gitlab, Jenkins, Apache, Nginx
• Hotproxy - HAproxy server
• Bare-metal server
• Cloud Sercers: Cloud Sigma, Amazon Cloud, Digital Ocean
