Job Description
- To be a passionate advocate for all data in the organization; to monitor report quality and take steps to improve it where necessary; to design and implement an appropriate testing framework to achieve an exemplary level of reliability and accuracy in the business reporting against the Enterprise Data Warehouse.
- Both quality and delivery focused; able to deliver challenging technical tasks to aggressive deadlines whilst maintaining total accuracy.
- Excited by the prospect of exploiting the latest Microsoft technologies on a large data warehouse and as committed as we to developing your testing and technical skills in this area.
- Develop active real-time monitoring processes for data quality throughout the Data Warehouse to Reporting processes.
- Work with the Data Warehouse and Reporting team and key stakeholders to catalogue defects and manage their resolution.
- Maintain a close working relationship with and support the technical leadership of the Reporting and Insights Designer
- An experienced testing strategist and practitioner able to establish the necessary testing, monitoring and controls driven by specific need rather than past standard and precedents.
- A competent SQL coder, capable of constructing the most complex SQL statements to implement test cases.
- Awareness of data warehouse design and dimensional modeling techniques such that you can identify test cases from the data warehouse design without specific requirements documentation.
- A strong commitment to proactively test and QA all deliverables and to ongoing monitoring throughout the deliverables’ operational life.
Minimum Qualifications
- Degree educated or equivalent industry experience.
- Previous experience with Data Warehouse and/or Reporting testing desirable.
- Experience with reporting & visualisation tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SSRS
- Experience with data modelling and data warehouse processes
- Experience working with State and/or Regulatory bodies desirable.
- Experience using project management and documentation tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
- Strong C-Level Stakeholder communication skills
- Very strong analytical skills and experience of writing highly complex SQL queries.
- Extensive knowledge of testing techniques, tools, and strategies
- Ability to apply testing skills and experience in new and imaginative ways.
- Knowledgeable on relational databases (from OLTP to ETL and ultimately, OLAP systems)
- Must have previous experience of SSIS and ideally SSAS/SSRS.
- Knowledge of SQL Server management and administration
