Job Description

The Delivery Manager will be accountable for the overall success of the project, the team, and the overall satisfaction of all stakeholders — internal and external. He/she will be responsible for the following:

  • Creation, planning, execution and closure of deliverables that involve software development.
  • Procurement of resources and recruitment of personnel needed to fulfill deliverables for the project/s he/she will handle.
  • Improving business processes, guidelines and templates related to fulfilling the deliverables.
  • Continuous learning & skills improvement of the personnel involved in the fulfillment of the deliverables.
  • Foster long-term relationships with the Clients, both internal and external.

Duties and Responsibilities

A. Project Planning

  • The Delivery Manager is expected to define project requirements based on the brief provided by the Business Owner and facilitate the completion of the necessary requirements document by overseeing the timeline of the creation of the Business Analyst in creating the requirements documentation.
  • Develop or update project plans which would include information such as project objectives, technologies, systems, information specifications, work breakdown structure, schedules, funding, and staffing collaborating with the Tech Business Unit Head, the Business Analyst and the Tech Team Leads.
  • Work closely with the Business Owner and the client’s Tech Lead to plan a deliverable’s execution, while taking responsibility for planning the management of scope, costs and schedule. Outputs of this phase may include:
  • > Defining roles and responsibilities using a RACI chart
  • > Collaborating with the Business Owner, Stakeholders, and the team to define the Roadmap
  • > Implement best-practice tools and processes clearly define and communicate requirements to the team and stakeholders.

Preparation

  • Proactively work with the Admin and Management Teams to oversee the procurement of any hardware, software or additional manpower and outsourced services needed for a project.
  • Assign people to projects based on their skills, previous experience, availability, or project budget.
  • Refer/recruit additional resources/talents, if needed for a project.

B. Project Initiation

  • Facilitate project kick-off meeting for the internal team discussing the project objectives, expectations, schedules, milestones, and rules of engagement.
  • Establish and execute a project communication plan for all project stakeholders.

C. Project Monitoring

  • Proficiently performs the role of a Scrum Master, ensuring Scrum practices are followed, along with generating Scrum metrics and reporting to keep the team running effectively.
  • Monitors/tracks project milestones and deliverables and report to all stakeholders.
  • Manage project execution to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope
  • Proactively remove roadblocks encountered by project personnel by identifying and solving problems and issues encountered during the project implementation.
  • At the end of every Sprint, facilitate post-mortem discussions to gather learnings, improvements and what to do and what not to do in the next sprint.

D. Turnover

  • Prepare acceptance criteria for the project to ensure that the project will be turned over properly to the clients/stakeholders.
  • Oversee creation of the user's manual by the Technical Writer as needed.
  • At the end of every project, the Delivery Manager is expected to lead the post-mortem discussions with the team to gather learnings, improvements and what to do and what not to do in the next project.

Other Responsibilities

  • Continuously improve processes, procedures of the Tech Business Unit to ensure better quality of output and optimal delivery time of projects.
  • Proactively communicate suggestions for changes in the organization, its processes and policies to ensure that the team is in top shape to consistently deliver expected outputs.
  • Ensure efficient use of resources and spot problems such as employee under/overutilization, uneven workload, and overtime.
  • Perform other work-related duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Candidates must possess at least a Bachelor’s/College Degree in Industrial Engineering, Business Management or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in Project Management.

Required Skills

  • Proficient with Agile Scrum methodology.
  • Ability to assess a project’s scope and the team’s ability to execute.
  • Experienced in applying a wide variety of well-documented patterns and techniques for filling in the intentional gaps left in the Scrum approach (example: numerous Burndown techniques, numerous Retrospective formats, handling bugs,etc).
  • Excellent in written/oral communication, coordination, and planning skills.
  • Driven, passionate, self-motivated and can work with minimum supervision.
  • Exposure to Digital Marketing is a strong advantage.
