Job Description
- Build an encoding pipeline that can scale to our catalog of content, encoding profiles, resilient to the cloud infrastructure and tuning high-performance video application for latency and cost.
- Work on really exciting video content delivery end to end while knowing that you are making ruangguru video contents smoother, crisper and more engaging for millions of students.
- Responsible for designing an encoding engine that can improve the quality, or reduce the bandwidth requirements, of our video streams.
- You will research related current codec implementations and figure out the improvement in quality and speed.
- Strive to be at the cutting-edge of encoding algorithms, such as per-title encoding and dynamic optimization, and drive these technologies from research to large-scale.
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong analytical and planning skills.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Really fast learner, critical thinking & good analytical thinking.
- Experienced in one of these languages (Go-lang, C/C++, Java).
- Having experience with distributed storage and database systems, including SQL or NoSQL.
- You have a systematic problem-solving approach and knowledge of algorithms, data structures, and complexity analysis.
- Good communication skill, team player and comfortable working with a cross-functional team.
- You have a passion for learning, improving and contributing to projects with a strong sense of ownership.
- Having exposure in architectural patterns of the high-scale web application.
Nice To Haves
- Having knowledge video codecs and video compression (such as H.264, H.265 & VP9) is a plus.
- Have Knowledge of common multimedia frameworks/APIs as well as OS integration (e.g., Android MediaCodec Framework, iOS Video Toolbox) is a plus.
