Job Description

SGCL is currently looking to add a Price and Market Intel Analyst to bolster its fashion commerce. The job involves the responsibility of compiling materials that will be used throughout the company’s sales and supply chain functions. The Price and Market Analyst will work directly with and interact on a regular basis with the project CEO, with the ultimate purpose of expanding distribution of the company’s high-end luxury fashion brands.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze the main resellers in target markets, and estimate their KPIs, including size, turnover value and volume.
  • Create lists of the items that the resellers offer and their prices. Track how the availability and pricing changes.
  • Create comparisons and margin analyses of items with the company’s own purchase channels.
  • Develop a database of product intel, containing photos, model names and variations, RRP and pricing across different markets.
  • Detail which items sell better than others per geographical market and reseller.
  • Develop monthly reports detailing movements, trends and changes in the market based on the information gathered, divided into top countries and overall market.
  • Assist in pricing of the company’s inventory across different target markets.
  • Upload and management of product information on the company’s various sales channels.
  • Assist commercial functions with answers and information.
  • Potential additional tasks and responsibilities on the basis of the company’s development and future needs.

We would request that you utilize your own laptop in the beginning. It should have sufficient capacity to be able to work with large Excel-files (and Google Sheets), conduct online video calls, browse the web in your desk research, produce PowerPoint-created reports (and Google Slides) and use email.

The role will initially be fully remote, but may transform into an in-office or partially in-office based one as the team grows. Please note that an office is expected to be in Cebu City, or possibly Makati, Metro Manila. Kindly therefore note that the ability to commute into the area is expected to eventually become necessary.

The role is set to begin as soon the right candidate has been found, but we may be able to provide some flexibility to accommodate for a potential notice period too.

Minimum Qualifications

  • You are deeply analytical by nature, seeing patterns and being able to put two-and-two together to see the bigger picture.
  • You’re fully self-going and self-initiating, naturally motivated to build the datasets and excited to see the output and insights that the data yields.
  • You have an ability to be “management consultant-like” and be able to understand what sort of delivery conveys the right intel and insights that help the project CEO and wider team the most in achieving expansion.
  • You are very patient and can maintain focus and work with seemingly repetitive tasks for a long time, driven by the notion that the data will yield actionable insights for the commercial team.
  • You are passionate and understand the inherent value and quality of high-end luxury fashion and luxury fashion brands, particular in relation to accessories like bags, small leather goods, jewelry, etc.
  • While it is an advantage to have some work experience, we welcome newly grads to apply as well.
  • Finance knowledge and business controlling background and experience is a plus. At least partial education in corporate finance is preferable.
  • You’re fully fluent in English.
