Summary/Objective:
The Senior Manager – Data Privacy Compliance will work closely with the AVP – Data Privacy Compliance to develop strategies, create policies, roll out new procedures and review existing processes to ensure that the processing of Personal Information by entities and business units under the SM Retail Non-Food Group comply with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (DPA), its Implementing Rules and Regulations, issuances by the National Privacy Commission (NPC) and other related and other applicable laws and policies.
Key Relationships:
This position will be single contributor, and will relate with other division heads and senior executives within the Non-Food Group.
Responsibilities:
- Monitors the compliance of Business Units and Retail Affiliates with the DPA, its IRR, issuances by the NPC and other applicable laws and policies.
- Provide advices to the Business Units and Retail Affiliates regarding the necessity of executing a Data Sharing Agreement or Data Outsourcing Agreement with third parties, and ensures its compliance with the law.
- Ensures the conduct of Privacy Impact Assessments relative to activities, measures, projects, programs, or systems of the Business Units and Retail Affiliates.
- Coordinate with DPA Legal regarding complaints and/or the exercise by data subjects of their rights.
- Inform and cultivate awareness on privacy and data protection within your organization, including all relevant laws, rules, and regulations and issuances of the NPC.
- Liaise with other departments (e.g. IT) regarding the preparation of documents and reports required to be submitted to the NPC.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Accountancy.
- Certified Public Accountant
- Have at least an 8-year experience in the areas of Accounting, Compliance and Process Review.
- Knowledgeable in Data Privacy Act preferred
