Engineering Manager  

SMDV is a tech-focused Venture Capital that partners with entrepreneurs building exceptional technology companies that aim to change the landscape in Indonesia and the region. We are currently hiring for our portfolio companies.

We are looking for a Head of Engineering that will be Responsible for:

• Building and maintaining the infrastructure for web services and applications that support the organization.
• Coordinate the execution of multiple initiatives related to new products, business models, business growth, market expansion and process optimization
• Identify opportunities to automate processes and help to implement potential solutions.
• Identify pain points in internal business processes and developing effective, reliable and scalable solutions to work within the expected complexity of the processes.
• Provide scalable engineering and supportability deliverables, resulting in products and services with more efficiency, lower risk, and reduced customer impact.
• Identify security and performance issues at multiple layers of deployment, from hardware, operating environment, network and application;

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent from a reputable university with good academic results is preferred.
• Strong software engineering skills (5+ years) in Java, Scalable web applications involving extensive design and coding.
• Strong experience in Java Stack Enterprise, Ruby, Rails.
• Understand the best practices infrastructure in commerce, content sharing, and messaging platform.

• Experienced with large scale system development, management, and distributed services.

• Comfortable working up and down the technology stack.
• Curiosity to explore creative solutions and try new things to solve challenging problems to pull it all together into a user accepted solution.
• Passion in software engineering, application development, or systems development.
