Job Description

The E-commerce Merchandiser is responsible for achieving the Direct to Consumer (DTC) sales, growth, margin, and inventory turn targets across Sonak’s Brand.com. This position will assist in the execution of strategic vision, with a progressive, customer centric approach, all while delivering on sales & profit objectives. This role requires the ability to leverage data, to identify opportunities & develop product assortment strategies.

They will deliver insights & data to drive future product assortments & seasonal plans, aligned with digital strategy & growth objectives. They will partner closely with cross functional partners in the direct to consumer team including buyers, assistant buyers, digital website teams, planning, allocation, merchandising, marketing, & analytics to strengthen the best in class product on all digital channels , and combine knowledge of marketplace trends with sales data to help identify incremental business opportunities.

A successful candidate will seek out innovative solutions to existing, product, customer and/or company challenges. Finally, they will communicate with candor & value open debate to ensure the best ideas come to life and lastly, drive strong communication and organizational relationships.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Build, create & manage digital merchandise assortments to align with the market & consumer trends. Manage digital business to achieve profitability and key KPIs
  • Constantly evaluate pricing and product inventory flow across multiple ecommerce channels to achieve sales, inventory, and margin targets. Closely partner with manager to proactively identify opportunities & risks in the business
  • Execute monthly forecasting and buy plans for digital channels
  • Analyze business and sales trends utilizing existing and new selling reports and provide recommendations for business improvements and efficiencies
  • Align with brand merchandisers to assure product alignment and segmentation between all direct to consumer channels
  • Execute markdowns & promotions as needed based on sales trend at a style level, while maintaining margin needs
  • Compile data as needed to develop seasonal strategies and hindsight business reviews. Build and present information at weekly, monthly, and seasonal cross-functional meetings to share information on current business trends and needs
  • Prepare and present information for Monthly buy reviews
  • Monitoring inventory to ensure proper supply to meet demand.
  • Work with logistics team to track purchase orders to ensure monthly product launches
  • Create product allocation sheets to ensure adequate levels of inventory
  • Analyze the current & forecasted retail market/competition. Perform competitive market research and comp store visit hindsight presentations.
  • Be a student of the business and brand, continually search out learning opportunities.
  • Collaborate with all levels throughout the sales and marketing teams including but not limited to: buying, planning, allocation, web merchandising and content creation.
  • Develop solid working relationships across departments such as, planning, content creation, marketing, product merchandising, web merchandising, demand generation, marketplaces and logistics
  • Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree of any related course
  • Minimum 3 years experience in merchandising, buying, or retail planning in retail environment, including digital and/or Omni channel retail
  • Strong computer skills: Microsoft Office Suite (Excel is a must)
  • Experience with SAP is a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Experience with Google Applications such as Gmail, Google Meet, etc. a plus.
  • Strong analytical and planning skills;
  • Good communication and presentation skills;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills;

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Digital/retail/Onmichannel buying and/or planning experience preferred
  • Strong analytical skills & a solid knowledge of KPIs & retail math
  • Experience with systems similar to SAP systems preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications - strong Excel skills necessary
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency, able to work both independently and on a team
  • Ability to multitask, be flexible, and adaptable, in a frequently changing and fast paced environment
  • Knowledge & understanding of third-party marketplaces is a plus
  • Able to travel locally and internationally as needed
