The jobholder contributes to the growth and profitability of the Company by administering, managing and handling back-up, recovery and security of central databases, connectivity databases and the replication database, performance and tuning for all data nationwide, database architecture and database design.
Jobholder is mainly responsible for planning, leading, organizing and controlling the activities of his team to ensure the highest standard of database management at all times to support the Company’s projects.
A. Management Performance Areas
a. Programs the sequence and priority of action steps to be followed by his/her team in accordance with the department's objectives/goals, and project timelines;
b. Formulates Database Administration’s policies, guidelines and procedures as well as Database Administration Projects;
c. Reviews the report on system performance and capacity and recommends solutions;
d. Provides advice/consultation on database administration-related matters to all units/departments/divisions as needed;
e. Provides input in the annual Database Administration budget planning; and,
f. Anticipates needs and concerns that may arise, and comes up with remedial plans of action to address it.
a. Participates and make recommendations to Database Administration Manager following the recruitment, selection and placement policies of the Company;
b. Develops and motivates staff;
c. Initiates and/or attends to various coordination meetings for consultations; and,
d. Presides over department meetings, in the absence of the Database Administration Manager.
a. Conducts coordination and/or planning meetings, in the absence of the Database Administration Manager, with Sr. Database Administrators, Database Administrators and Jr. Database Administrators; and,
b. Establishes work relationships and delegates authority.
a. Oversees team progress in accomplishing set goals/objectives and implements necessary action plans;
b. Assesses the work progress and actual performance of staff;
c. Manages risks related to database information;
d. Provides reports and submits the team’s accomplishments and performance on set deadlines; and,
e. Oversees compliance of staff to Company policies, guidelines and procedures.

- B.S. in Electronics & Communications Engineering, Computer Science or any 4 year IT-related course
- At least 4 years of IT experience
- Knowledge in Database Architectures and Design and Management
- On-hand experience as DBA especially on Sybase and MSSQL
- Knowledge in new releases of MSSQL particularly with experience on Azure SQL
- Knowledge in Oracle
- With background in basic and advanced programming and server application
