Senior Embedded Engineer  

Responsibilities:

• Specify, design, and implement (C/C++) the firmware architecture of a state-of-the-art embedded and compute systems.
• Assist in the development of pre-silicon emulation systems/virtual platforms (C/C++) and use them for pre-silicon FW design and HW verification.
• Implement key protocol, signal processing and numerical algorithms with very tight time, latency and energy budgets.
• Evaluate and implement leading-edge tools to build, formal verification and test.
• Define methodologies and best practices.
• Analyzes, designs, programs, debugs and modifies firmware (e.g., DSP, embedded code, BIOS).

• 5+ years of software development/testing experience
• Experience / Proficient in embedded software development using Object Oriented Analysis and Design
• Proficient with C and C++, compilers, build and source code control tools
• Proficient in RTOS porting, as well as Linux, Android, iOS and Browser porting
• Proficient with memory constrained Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) and concurrent programming
• Knowledge of Python and/or Java
• Experience / Proficiency in Agile/Scrum development methodologies
• Experience in wired & wireless communications protocols (USB, TCP/IP, P25, OSI networking stack) and storage subsystems in embedded real-time systems
• Experience in Test Driven Development
• Experience with the use of test equipment such as logic analyzers, serial data analyzers, oscilloscopes etc.)
• Proficient in debugging embedded software systems. Experience with development tools (such as compilers, UARTs, emulators/JTAG, debuggers, etc.)
• Deep understanding software engineering principles, and core computer science fundamentals
• Experience with silicon prototyping, emulation systems, and virtual platforms
• Experience in Unix/Linux kernel development and mainstream OS application level development experience
• Experience in performance analysis/benchmarking
• Highly focused, with the ability to deliver solid work on tight schedules
• Excellent collaborative skills, with strong written and verbal communication

Other Qualifications

• BS in Computer Engineering, ECE, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent with 5+ years of embedded systems design and development experience. M.S. or Ph.D. is preferred
• Experience in working with cross-functional teams and collaborating with remote team members
• Detail-oriented and able to articulate and present to cross-functional teams, executive management, and customers
• Proven record of meeting tight deadlines without sacrificing quality
• Passion to learn and work on next-generation technologies
• Experience using GIT and Jira
• Experience / Proficiency in Agile/Scrum development methodologies is a plus
• Great analysis and problem-solving skills
