Procurement Manager  

Job Description

To purchase goods or services for their employer to use or sell. To ensure employer obtains quality products for competitive prices in a timely fashion and to strategize to find cost-effective deals and suppliers.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Devises and uses fruitful sourcing strategies
• Discovers profitable suppliers and initiates business and organization partnerships
• Negotiates with external vendors to secure advantageous terms
• Approves the ordering of necessary goods and services
• Finalizes purchase details of orders and deliveries
• Examines and tests existing contracts
• Tracks and reports key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
• Collaborates with key persons to ensure clarity of the specifications and expectations of the company
• Foresees alterations in the comparative negotiating ability of suppliers and clients
• Expects unfavorable events through analysis of data and prepares control strategies
• Perform risks management for supply contracts and agreements
• Controls spend and builds a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs
• Researches the best ways to cut procurement expenses

• Completed a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business Administration.
• At least 5 years of proven experience in managing supply chain operations
• Experience using supply chain management software and tools, including Oracle, SAP Ariba, and/or Envision
• In-depth knowledge of preparing and reviewing contracts, invoicing, and negotiation terms
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access)
• Management and leadership skills
• Multi-tasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
