Minimum Qualifications

Academic Qualifications:

Master’s degree in a discipline relevant to development studies, gender studies, international relations, political science, social science, disaster risk reduction, risk management, information and communications technology (ICT) for development, or other related fields.

Experience:

  • Minimum five years of professional work experience in international development with focus on increasing access to risk information for vulnerable groups
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of gender-sensitive methodologies for conducting mapping, assessments and/or analyses of vulnerable groups. Experience with analyzing ICT access and use among vulnerable groups an added advantage
  • Documented experience of using a mixed-methods approach for research, including analysis of quantitative, qualitative and geo-referenced datasets
  • Previous experience working with agencies implementing disaster risk reduction preferred
  • Previous experience engaging with digital innovations for sustainable development preferred
