Audio Visual Technician  

Summary of Work Activities and Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the KEMC Coordinator, the Audio-Visual Technician I is responsible for preparing, operating, and maintaining audio-visual equipment. The position also assists in capturing and editing multimedia data for instructional purposes.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

I. Repair and Maintenance

• Prepares and operates all audio-visual equipment of the KEMC anticipating possible equipment malfunctions by conducting quality check prior to use.
• Performs electronic repair, maintenance and installation of AV equipment for maximum utilization.
• Maintains the Destiny Library Manager (DLM - library management system) by checking the system on a weekly basis and conducting data-updates.

II. Multi-media and Communication

• Assists faculty, staff and students in audio-visual presentations (including dubbing, video recording etc) for school related activities.
• Performs editing of optics and transferring of videos for instructional purposes.
• Maintains a copy of all coverages for future documentation references

III. Administrative Tasks

• Conducts weekly inventory of all AV equipment.
• Prepares and submits a monthly report of equipment used as well as non-print materials.
• Charges and discharges non-print materials and equipment.
  • Issues materials and equipment to borrowers.
  • Recalls materials and equipment after the scheduled use.
  • Sorts and places materials in containers or on the shelves.
  • Keeps the Circulation Counter in order.

IV. Performs other work-related duties as may be required by the Immediate Supervisor and authorized representative

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge on audio and video equipment (cable boxes, AV receivers, media players, microphones, power speakers, mixers), PC and Mac operating system
• Knowledge in basic computer and audio-visual troubleshooting
• Skills in photography and videography
• Good communication skills
• Good interpersonal skills

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree or associate degree in audio visual technology (digital media) or related field
• At least 2 years work experience in operating audio-visual equipment handling multiple events.
