Merchant Underwriter  

We’re looking for a full-time Merchant Services Underwriter with underwriting experience who is a self-starter, organized, a fast learner and able to handle stressful situations. You’ll be working with a team servicing a big client in the e-commerce industry. The role is remote but might be required to report onsite depending on business needs.

What you'll do

• Gathering all the supporting documentation to submit to various merchant banks in the US.
• Reviewing the supporting documents to make sure they are compliant with the underwriting guidelines of the merchant banks.
• Reviewing clients’ websites to ensure they are in compliance with current online processing regulations.
• Work with the Shopify developers to create the websites and make simple adjustments to the websites.
• Deal with merchant bank risk department issues, funding holds, reserve releases and chargeback mitigation plans.
• Understanding the underwriting policies of a variety of merchant banks and to adjust the client’s submission plans to optimize and maximize the number of merchant accounts from each bank.

• A degree from a 4-year college or university
• 5+ years of relevant experience – underwriting experience is a must. Merchant bank underwriting experience in credit card processing is a HUGE plus.
• Strong English verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and DocuSign
