Plant Nursery Supervisor  

1. Oversees the day-to-day operations of the nursery staff and facilities.
2. Oversees the incoming and outgoing shipments.
3. Implements operational plan as per directions from Landscape Studio Managers.
4. Supervises the plant production in relation to project demand by running an efficient productive team.
5. Supervises staff in planting, transplanting, nutrient management and spraying stock.
6. Establishes the environmental conditions required to grow trees, shrubs, groundcovers, etc. and design planting and care schedules accordingly
7. Determines type and quantity of stock to grow.
8. Maintains records for plants related to size, watering, feeding, and products used.
9. Controls insects, disease and weed problems.
10. Ensure plant nursery meets all health and safety regulations.

Assist in producing top-quality plants.

1. Requests materials such as fertilizer, tools, equipment, and other nursery and greenhouse related accessories.
2. Ensures the irrigation control systems are working properly.
3. Carries out and oversees documentation, data entry and monitoring of e.g. plant/trees, tools & equipment.
4. Assists manager in the reviewing, updating and implementation of SOPs.
5. Assists as required in the proactive recruitment of suitable casual staff to team pool.
6. Coordinates the induction, training and coaching of nursery staff
7. Evaluates nursery staff/service provider performance.
8. Prepares relevant reports.
9. Project support and coordination.
10. Participates in relevant meetings.
11. Performs other duties as assigned or required.

• Must have relevant trainings in plant nursery supervision/management
• Must have at least three (3) years of experience in nursery supervision and operations
• Must have at least five (5) years of experience in landscape construction and maintenance
• Strong knowledge/interest in plant materials and propagation
• Strong visual discernment and ability (a “good eye”)
• Reliable, willing and able to work outdoors.
