Research and Development Associate  

As a Research and Development Associate at Mary Grace Cafe, you will play an important role in improving production processes and supporting automation initiatives within our plant operations. You will assist in identifying process improvements, evaluating new equipment and technologies, and supporting R&D projects from planning to implementation. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys combining data analysis, project coordination, and technical problem-solving to improve operational efficiency and product quality.

What you'll be doing

• Support end-to-end R&D projects, from planning and coordination to implementation and monitoring
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as operations, engineering, quality assurance, and marketing to ensure successful project execution
• Conduct process analysis and gap assessments to identify opportunities for improving productivity, efficiency, and product quality
• Assist in the evaluation, testing, and validation of new equipment and automated systems, ensuring compatibility with existing operations
• Collect, analyze, and interpret production and testing data to generate insights and recommendations
• Prepare Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA) and Return on Investment (ROI) reports for new and existing machinery
• Document testing results, technical specifications, and research findings for internal reference and reporting
• Ensure all R&D initiatives comply with food safety regulations, GMP standards, and company policies
• Work closely with vendors and external partners on equipment testing, automation initiatives, and technical improvements
• Prepare reports and presentations to communicate project progress and outcomes to stakeholders

• Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Food Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field

• 1–2 years of experience in research and development, quality assurance, or a technical role within food manufacturing, but fresh graduates with relevant internship experience are welcome to apply

• Knowledge of food manufacturing processes, production equipment, and automation systems

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and recommend improvements

• Experience or familiarity with project management and process improvement initiatives

• Proficiency in basic statistical analysis techniques and data interpretation

• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Documentation Practices (GDP), and Good Warehousing Practices (GWP)

• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams

• Ability to adapt in a fast-paced production environment and manage multiple priorities
