Mechanical Engineer  

Job Summary

The Mechanical Engineer will support the design, development, and optimization of manufacturing processes and mechanical systems used in production. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in a factory setting and a strong understanding of mechanical design, process improvement, and production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop tools, fixtures, jigs, and production equipment to improve efficiency and reduce waste.

Evaluate production lines and recommend engineering changes to enhance performance and reduce downtime.

Develop and update mechanical drawings and BOMs for new and existing products.

Collaborate with the production team to implement lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.

Troubleshoot mechanical and manufacturing issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.

Coordinate with suppliers for the specification and procurement of mechanical components.

Support continuous improvement initiatives in quality, safety, and productivity.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.

Experience: At least 2–4 years of mechanical engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.

Technical Skills:

Proficient in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).

Experience with GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, and technical drawing standards.

Familiar with CNC machining, metal fabrication, and assembly processes.

Knowledge of root cause analysis and failure mode effects analysis (FMEA).

Communication: Clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally.

Problem-Solving: Strong analytical thinking and a hands-on approach to solving production issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment (automotive, aerospace, etc.).

Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.).

Lean Six Sigma certification or experience with continuous improvement projects.

Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus but not required.
