Senior Full Stack Engineer  

We are an Australian-based technology and business consulting firm seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer to support our Australian clients in the sports, media, and entertainment industry. This is a remote opportunity working on high-traffic, high-impact digital platforms, owning features end to end from the user interface through to APIs and data.

• Design and build full-stack features across React/Next.js front ends and Node.js/NestJS back ends.
• Develop responsive, accessible, and performant web interfaces using HTML5, CSS3, and modern TypeScript/JavaScript (ES6+), ensuring cross-browser compatibility and WCAG compliance.
• Design, build, and consume RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs that other teams and partners can rely on.
• Integrate with headless CMS/DXP platforms (Optimizely headless preferred, or similar such as Contentful, Sanity, or Sitecore).
• Implement secure authentication and authorisation, including OAuth2/OpenID Connect and JWT-based flows.
• Work with SQL and NoSQL databases, designing schemas and queries that perform well under load.
• Optimise performance across the stack, including load times, API latency, and caching strategies, particularly during peak-traffic periods.
• Work closely with UX/UI designers and product stakeholders to turn business requirements into user-friendly, pixel-perfect interfaces.
• Collaborate with DevOps/platform teams on CI/CD pipelines, containerised deployments, and monitoring/observability tooling.
• Write clean, secure, well-tested code (unit and integration) and use monitoring and logging tools to troubleshoot production issues.
• Participate in code reviews, mentor other engineers, and contribute to architectural decisions and engineering best practices.

• 6+ years of professional software development experience, with substantial full-stack delivery (be ready to talk through specific projects and your individual contribution to each).
• Strong expertise in TypeScript/JavaScript, React.js, and Next.js, with experience in modern state management (Redux, Zustand, Context API, or similar).
• Strong back-end experience with Node.js (NestJS preferred); experience with Golang, .NET, or Java is also regarded.
• Experience building and consuming RESTful and/or GraphQL APIs, including API security (OAuth2, JWT, OpenID Connect).
• Experience integrating with a headless CMS or DXP. Optimizely headless experience is highly regarded, but similar platforms will be considered.
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Understanding of web accessibility standards (WCAG) and cross-browser compatibility.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred; GCP or Azure also considered), including container-based deployment (Docker, ECS, or Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with Git-based workflows and automated testing, and with observability tools (e.g. Datadog, New Relic, CloudWatch).
• Exposure to microservices architecture is a plus.
• Comfortable working as part of a small, collaborative delivery team, and able to work independently in a remote consulting environment.
• Professional English communication skills (spoken and written) are mandatory.
• Experience working with Australian or international teams is highly regarded.
