Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced COBOL Developer to support our Life Insurance core system. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in COBOL programming and experience working with insurance-related applications.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and enhance existing COBOL-based life insurance core system
- Develop new COBOL programs as required for system improvements
- Debug and resolve issues in the production environment
- Collaborate with business analysts to translate requirements into technical specifications
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards
- Document code changes and system modifications
Kualifikasi Minimum
Key Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in COBOL programming
- Proficiency in IBM AIX operating system environments
- Experience with DB2 and SQL
- Familiarity with life insurance business processes and terminology
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Additional Skills:
- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
- Understanding of data migration and integration techniques
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN, BitBucket)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- Experience with modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Python) will be an advantage for potential future system migrations
- Knowledge of insurance industry regulations and compliance requirements
- Certifications in COBOL programming or mainframe technologies
