Aircraft Painting Technician  

The Aircraft Painting Technician at PT Garuda Maintenance Facility Aero Asia Tbk (GMF) will be responsible for performing aircraft painting processes, including surface preparation, coating application, and finishing activities. This role focuses on ensuring high-quality paint application to maintain aircraft appearance, protection, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform surface preparation activities such as cleaning, sanding, and masking prior to painting
• Apply primer, basecoat, and topcoat using approved painting techniques and materials
• Operate painting equipment including HVLP spray systems and electrostatic application tools
• Ensure proper color matching and coating thickness in accordance with technical specifications
• Inspect painted surfaces to identify defects and perform necessary touch-ups or corrections
• Follow Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and safety procedures when handling hazardous materials
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area and equipment
• Support maintenance schedules to meet aircraft Return to Service (RTS) targets
• Comply with all safety, quality, and regulatory requirements set by authorities, customers, and GMF
• Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and high-quality work output

• Education: Senior High School or Diploma Degree (D3)
• Proficient in English (technical level), especially for reading and understanding manuals, safety rules, and procedures
• Minimum 4 years of experience in aircraft painting
• Possess Basic Aircraft Maintenance License / Basic Aircraft Painter (preferred)
• Must have perfect color vision (no color blindness)
• Physically fit: able to stand for long periods, work in confined spaces, and at heights
• Willing to work in shifts, including weekends and overtime

Required Skills:

• Able to read and interpret technical publications, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and maintenance manuals
• Strong knowledge of surface preparation, masking, and coating types
• Basic understanding of hazardous materials
• Familiar with HVLP spray systems
• Familiar with electrostatic application methods
