Backup Support Engineer  

Manage daily backup and restore operations in accordance with SOP and SLA, including job monitoring, capacity, retention, media, and repository management.

Perform L2 troubleshooting for backup failures (failed jobs, bottlenecks, credential, network/agent, or storage issues) and ensure full resolution.

• Handle restore requests (file-level, VM, and database) including requirement validation, approval, execution, and result verification.
• Conduct backup and restore for enterprise databases and virtual environments, perform log analysis, basic RCA for recurring incidents, and propose preventive actions and tuning improvements.
• Support change and maintenance activities (patching, agent upgrades, policy updates, new client onboarding), coordinate with infrastructure teams, escalate to L3 when required, and maintain technical documentation and reports.

• Minimum 3 years of experience in enterprise backup operations/support (L2 level).
• Hands-on experience with at least one enterprise backup platform in production environments.
• Experience handling backup and restore for databases and virtualized infrastructures.
• Strong understanding of storage concepts (IOPS, throughput, retention), networking fundamentals (latency, bandwidth), and virtualization environments.
• Comfortable working in Linux environments, analyzing logs, performing basic scripting for automation, working with ticketing systems, and meeting SLA targets with clear communication and structured troubleshooting approach.
