Installation Supervisor – Job Description
Position Overview
The Installation Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating all on-site installation activities for furniture, interior fit-outs, and related Dreambuild/AF Home projects. This role ensures that every project is executed efficiently, safely, and according to design standards, quality specifications, and client expectations. The supervisor will oversee installers, ensure proper communication with logistics and project teams, and proactively address issues to avoid delays.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project & Site Coordination
Review project plans, drawings, and installation requirements before dispatch.
Coordinate with the Logistics, Production, and Design teams regarding schedules, site readiness, materials, tools, and manpower needed.
Conduct a pre-site inspection when necessary to assess access, measurements, obstacles, and potential risks.
Ensure installers understand project details before deployment.
2. On-Site Supervision
Lead installation teams during on-site work to ensure quality and accuracy.
Assign tasks, manage workflow, and resolve conflicts during installation.
Ensure all items are installed according to the correct specifications, design plans, and safety standards.
Monitor site cleanliness and professional behavior of installation personnel.
3. Quality Control
Inspect delivered materials and finished installations for defects, damage, and completeness.
Report discrepancies to Production or Warehouse immediately using proper documentation.
Conduct a final quality check before handover to the client.
Ensure corrections, touch-ups, or adjustments are completed promptly.
4. Client Interaction & Handover
Communicate politely and professionally with clients while on-site.
Explain installation steps, usage/maintenance tips (if needed), and gather client feedback.
Secure client confirmation, signatures, or photos as proof of completion.
Escalate customer concerns instantly to the office for support.
5. Team Leadership & Training
Train installers on proper techniques, safety protocols, and company standards.
Monitor attendance, discipline, and performance of installation personnel.
Uphold accountability — record mistakes, violations, and improvement notes for HR.
Encourage teamwork, responsibility, and clear communication.
6. Documentation & Reporting
Prepare daily installation reports:
Time in/time out
Project completed
Issues encountered
Materials used/missing
Client sign-off
Submit digital reports with photos to the office after each job.
File incident reports or charge slips for damages, delays, or errors.
7. Coordination With Departments
Work closely with:
Logistics: for dispatch schedules and site updates.
Production: for missing parts or quality issues.
Design Team: for plan clarifications and adjustments.
Sales Team: for client expectations and project timelines.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- On-time installation completion rates
- Zero or minimal quality issues and rework
- Customer satisfaction after installation
- Accuracy in reporting and documentation
- Installer performance and discipline
- Reduced delays due to better coordination
Minimum Qualifications
Qualifications
- Proven experience as Installation Supervisor, Team Leader, or Foreman (Furniture/Interior/Construction preferred).
- Strong technical knowledge in furniture assembly, carpentry, cabinetry, or interior fit-outs.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, measurements, and design layouts.
- Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Physically fit and capable of supervising on-site work.
- High level of professionalism and responsibility.
