The first ever Mario’s was opened in Baguio City on September 1, 1971, origins of the legendary Mario’s Ceasar Salad, Mario’s Pizza and the Steak A la Pobre. This quaint restaurant rose to popularity and especially lured visiting Manilans where dining at Mario’s was a “must” during their stay at the summer capital. By November of 1981, Mario’s Quezon City was inaugurated at Tomas Morato Avenue. This attracted nearby residential clients, interesting government persons and movie stars clientele who all became fast Mario’s “regulars”. Mario’s old and new habitues will be treated once again to ecclectic mix of epicurean delights in this cozy and elegant restaurant, graced with a typically Southern California style. Mario’s QC is still considered one of the best fine dining establishments in that part of the city although there is stiff but friendly competition among the neighboring restaurants on that avenue.
