Finance Manager | Permanent WFH  

Your days will be filled with:

• Lead and execute month-end close across six entities (with a seventh planned), including accruals, intercompany, inventory/COGS (Cin7), balance sheet reconciliations, and bank/AR/AP reviews.
• Manage payroll, accounts payable, and Shopify payout reconciliations.
• Maintain and improve accounting workflows by building SOPs and close checklists, ensuring consistency across entities.
• Leverage automation tools and AI to streamline reconciliation workflows, reporting, and spreadsheet tasks.
• Support financial reporting to management, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and compliance with AU accounting standards.
• Collaborate with founders and management, providing actionable insights on financial performance.

Who we are looking for:

Non-Negotiable Qualifications (Must-Have)

• 2-3 years of proven accounting experience with end-to-end ownership of the month-end close.
• Advanced Xero (multi-entity) expertise.
• Strong reconciliation skills (GL, intercompany, accruals).
• Solid understanding of inventory/COGS accounting and payroll.
• Australian accounting experience.
• Excellent written English communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain financial variances, issues, and recommendations.
• Proficiency in Google Sheets and Excel (lookups, pivots, reconciliation formulas).
• Process-driven mindset with the ability to design SOPs and close checklists while balancing efficiency, accuracy, and risk management.
• AI-positive mindset, with the ability to integrate AI and automation into accounting workflows.
• Ability to work full-time during AEST business hours.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have)

• CPA or equivalent professional certification.
• Experience with Cin7 Core, Shopify, Employment Hero, Mayday, and G-Accon.
• Knowledge of Google Sheets Scripting / Apps Script for automation.
• Experience working in multi-entity D2C and B2B environments.
• Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools into accounting workflows.
• Previous experience working in a remote or hybrid environment.
