Job Description
- Provide legal advice to the Manila office in response to ad-hoc legal questions regarding commercial law, employment law, real property
- Draft, review and execute contracts for the Manila office
- Manage the legal service providers for the Manila office
- Provide assistance to Canva’s help desk escalations
- Manage the issue of equity to employees in the Manila office
- Manage the Manila office’s compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements
- Monitor new rules and regulations applicable to the Manila office
- Other project work as required from time to time.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 3 or more years experience in-house or at a leading Philippines’ firm (employment or commercial experience preferred).
- Be qualified to practice as a lawyer in the Philippines
- In-house legal experience (including a secondment).
- Passion for technology. Exceptional stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure and within deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent work ethic and a commitment to getting every part of the job done
- Strong desire to keep learning
- The capability to work well autonomously and as part of a team
- Operate well in a fast-paced environment and be a problem solver
- Be able to adapt quickly, manage workloads and meet deadlines
