Job Description
- Design database schemas
- Improving existing database design
- Bench marking and optimizing queries
- Developing high performance stored procedures
- Managing and developing clustered/replicated database system using MySQL
- Supporting tests as a database expert
- Troubleshooting database related problems
- Monitoring database performance
- Writing documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, and correction
- Staying in line with current changes in technology by reading journals and other pertinent publication and parcipating in professional organizations, meeting, and seminar
- Designing and implementing backup, migration, and upgrade strategies
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in related field or equivalent work experience
- 2+ years of previous development experience in any 3rd or 4th generation programming language
- 2+ years of experience with MySQL/MariaDB
- 1+ years experience with MySQL Clusters
- 1+ years experience with high performance / big data handling (e.g. Table Partitioning)
- Knowledge and experience of Percona, Big Data and Cassandra will be preferred
- Being able to work in an interrupt-driven environment and to easily move from task to task while maintaining overall productivity
- Being able to multi task and work under pressure
- Ability to be careful and through with detail
- Being able to work both independently and in a collaborative environment
- Communicating fluently in English, both verbally and in writing
