A Dashboard Developer is responsible for:
- Rapidly developing visualizations, dashboards and reusable components using Tableau Desktop/Designer, including Python extensions for SQL, NoSQL and Web service backends;
- Understanding requirements and specifications such as visualization types, pallettes, and other standards including navigation;
- Utilizing identified python and AWS tools and services such as TabPy and Python libraries and utilities as needed;
- Creating and maintaining standards and best practices for all associated dashboard development artifacts using configuration as code and DataOps practices;
- Supporting other BI/Dashboard developers for Tableau as well as data preparation using ETL tools and SQL scripting;
- Creating and executing medium to complex SQL scripts to validate and test data prior to and during the lifecycle of reports and dashboard development;
- Coaching and promoting best practices for dashboard development and semantic layer design & development
Minimum Qualifications
- Strong analytical and planning skills;
- Good communication and presentation skills;
- Excellent problem-solving skills;
- Graduate of a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or any related field;
- 5+ years of hands on experience in with Tableau Desktop//Designer handling complex dashboards and SQL and NoSQL backends;
- 3+ years of experience writing complex SQL queries;
- 2+ years of experience in with python and various python toolkits and libraries for data analytics;
- 1+ year of Tableau server management exposure and a strong understanding of enterprise dashboards and well architected semantic layers;
- 1+ year of experience using complex data sets and formats such as JSON, AVRO, parquet;
- 1+ year of work experience on AWS based datasources such as RDS, Athena, Redshift;
- 1+ year of experience in data profiling and quality management;
- 1+ year experience working with CI/CD tools including Git for etl and scripts repository
Desired skills:
- Experience of working in AWS environments and any AWS certifications is advantageous;
- Experience with big data tools such as EMR/Spark, Databricks/PySpark is an advantage;
- Experience working with database versioning tools such as Flyway is an advantage;
- Experience in Jenkins scripting is an advantage
