The Inventory Head is responsible for overseeing all inventory-related activities across the organization, including raw materials, finished goods, traded products, factory supplies, and spare parts. This role ensures accurate stock levels, optimal storage, and timely availability of materials to support sales and operational needs. The Inventory Head also leads the inventory team, establishes policies and procedures, and coorindates with logistics departments to maintain operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management and Control
- Develop and implement inventory management strategies, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain accurate inventory records through regular physical counts, reconciliations, and system updates.
- Monitor stock levels to ensure minimum and maximum thresholds are maintained according to demand and sales forecasts.
- Implement inventory control methods such as FIFO (First-In, First-Out) and batch tracking.
- Identify and resolve discrepancies, losses, or obsolescence in inventory.
- Optimize storage space and ensure proper organization of materials, supplies, and finished goods.
Team Leadership & Coordination
- Lead, train, and supervise the inventory team, assigning responsibilities and monitoring performance.
- Coach team members on best practices in inventory management, safety, and operational efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with warehoue, purchasing, and sales departments to ensure smooth inventory flow
- Coordinate with suppliers and logistics to facilitate the timely delivery and dispatch of materials.
Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare and present inventory reports, KPIs, analysis to management.
- Analyza stock trends, product movement, and market demand to support strategic planning.
- Recomment improvements to inventory processes, systems, and controls to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, safety regulations, and quality standards.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to maintain proper inventory handling and storage.
- Implement preventive measures to avoid stock damage, pilferage, or operational hazards.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field (preferred)
- Minimum 4-5 years' experience in inventory management, warehouse management, or related roles, with leadership experience preferred.
