Role: SDR - Customer Acquisition Associate
Work Arrangement: Fully remote, overlapping US working hours
Job Type: Independent Contractor, Full-time
Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, overlapping with US business hours.

Role Overview:
We’re looking for a mission-driven Customer Acquisition Associate to join our team and help grow our readership and advertising partnerships. This is a remote performance-focused sales and telemarketing role.
Core Responsibilities:
Acquire New Print Subscribers for the Long Island Herald
You’ll call and engage Long Island residents, starting with recently churned subscribers, to encourage them to re-subscribe or sign up for the first time. You'll explain how our trusted, hyperlocal journalism helps people stay informed, protect their families, and feel more connected to their neighborhoods.
Your goal: Bring vital local information to more homes and help build stronger communities.
Sell Branded Content and Directory Packages to Small Businesses
You’ll identify small business owners who could benefit from our branded content and directory solutions and show how we can help them reach new customers. You’ll even use our proprietary AI tools to generate custom content samples to bring their brands to life.
Your goal: Help small business owners tell their stories, expand their audiences, and achieve their professional dreams.
Minimum Qualifications
Requirements
- A confident and empathetic communicator with a clear, engaging phone presence
- Highly proficient in English, both spoken and written, with near-native fluency
- Experienced in sales, telemarketing, or outbound customer engagement
- Persistent and self-motivated, you don’t get discouraged by a “no” and thrive on hitting goals
- Organized, tech-savvy, and comfortable using CRMs, email platforms, and AI tools
- Eager to grow within a long-term, stable remote role that rewards performance
